TRANSITION U.S. SOCIAL NETWORK

New! All-Transition Searches

You want to be local -- you can be local. You want to be global -- you can be global. You want to define for yourself something between local and global... read on...

  1. Local Searches. Positioned in the upper right corner of every page on ning sites is a Search box. Entering a keyword into that box results in a listing of discussions, events, photos, profiles, etc. defined by your query. The search looks ONLY at the site you are logged into.
  2. All-Transition Search. How would you like to find what you need across all Transition sites, world-wide... It’s now possible. Located currently on TRANSITION US, TRANSITION COLORADO, TRANSITION CALIFORNIA, and TRANSITION VERMONT is a little blue box inviting you to enter your keywords for a search of EVERY Transition site registered to date. Go to one of these sites and enter your name, or the word "garden" or "permaculture" or the name of your favorite trainer, or “Sandpoint” or the tag for your local community (e.g., uscolv). Where in the world is Beau Horgan? What localities have engaged in great unleashings. Go for it!

Additional Transition Sites? Use this link -- http://transitionus.ning.com/forum/topics/nominate-websites-for -- to review the list of websites currently included in the All-Transition search. Let's add your favorite Transition sites. Take a few minutes to paste their URL’s on this page.
  3. Create Your Own Custom Search. If this weren't magical enough, the third step is for you to roll your own searches. Come up with a list of websites you want to search and go to http://www.google.com/coop/manage/cse/create/1? -- to create your custom search. The best place to put your custom search is on your Profile. Follow the google instructions and paste the code google gives you into the text box on your profile.

Enjoy!

Wes, you've reached another rung on my hero list. I must warn you that the top is near. Now the only problem is to avoid addiction to the web world of Transition you are weaving.
