Skype and Transition Social Network Tutorials. The Skype User Group is hosting tutorials on how to use your computer as a telephone and create no-charge conference calls with Transitioners anywhere in the world. Use this page to receive instruction on best uses of skype and best uses of the Transition social networking websites. Learn how to implement low carbon conference calling and high impact interactions with like-minded Transitioners.

Tips

• Invite a friend, or 5 or 25 to tea -- to sit with you at your computer during our session. Unplug the your headset speakers so everybody in the room can hear. Pass the headset microphone to anybody in your group who wants to respond. If you really want to go wild, hook the speaker jack to a PA system and... well... you get the idea... an audio connection with an unlimited number of participants. Can Oprah-like Transition presenters be far off....

• Each participant will learn how to use his/her computer to maintain a phone list and to talk with others worldwide free of charge.
• Create conference calls and be assured that with up to 24 persons the voice quality will be acceptable.
• Grandparents will learn how to read to their grandchildren, independent of normal geographical limitations.
• Music students will learn how to take singing lessons in foreign countries, without travel.
• Educators, coaches, and tutors will learn how to do distance learning.
• And this list will grow as we share our various experiences.

Haven't been home to do this round on skype- not enough lead time to schedule- giving & going to workshops keeping me out of the house

terminology is confusing to me-Skype phone means what?
I've been only using the skype to skype names, to one other person; when the other person has a built in webcam we see each other, never did it with a group, does group conference have to be done with phones? Is chat only done with texting?

May try tomorrow by 4pm if I get home in time-
