Videos Introducing Transitions

Here are some links to a great 1 hour (in total) presentation (from the Positive Energy Conference in Findhorn last Spring) by Rob Hopkins about his background and the development of Transition Towns. Below are links to an interview with Chris Johnstone who is often sited in the heart and soul work.

Transition Louisville October 11 2008 Kick Off Meeting

An engaged group of about 25 Louisville citizens gathered at the library today for the kick off of Transition Louisville. The guest speaker, Michael Brownlee, co-founder of Transitions Boulder County, presented on peak oil, global warming, and the global economic crisis.

At the conclusion of the formal presentation we brainstormed an initial list of things to explore as we continue our journey to becoming a formal Transition Initiative.

New to Transitions US. I'm trying to locate Transitions oriented groups or individuals in the Silicon Valley, California area. I'm an early joiner-type but not good at trying to start something new from scatch.

David,
life is good, a little too busy with Transition, not enough locally, but that is about to change. Spring is coming slowly here, like everywhere else it seems, but the daffodils are up and the early plum trees are blooming this week.

Great work on the Group for Newcomers. I deleted the tips article -- since it was mostly about the concept of groups, not the intimacies of being a member of the newcomer group.

There are dozens of NEWCOMERS coming into Transition on TransitionUS -- can I get you to set up a new GROUP -- name it Newcomers or something like that -- explain in the description that it's a place for those who are just starting and want to hang out together....

Let me know if you want to pass on this task or pass it on to somebody else. But since I'm welcoming about 60 people a day, it would be good to have this sooner rather than later.

David, Let me know when you're ready to post your Invitation to the Book Review to read Solvina. We're posting on Transition US as a new Discussion. When you post that, be sure to CATEGORIZE it as "Book Review" When you've posted, I'll activate Book Review on the main menu on the US and on the Colorado sites.
