Our medicine is totally dependent on oil and some of us are totally dependent on our medicine. Will we have enough time to find local plants if any could replace needed medicines?

Speaking of confusing websites-how does one set up groups? I want to add two more groups
to MA website but have no idea what to write when they ask you for the URL? How does one add
pictures if I have none?

Profile Information
- How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
- I took the training course and hope to get started soon. I am on
the steering (hate that word), or initiative committee of Somerville, Massachusetts.
- In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
- It is a way to gather all the activist and normal everyday groups together and see how much they have in common.
It is a way to open our eyes to see that no matter what happens, we will try as hard as we can. It is a painful but necessary awakening.
- How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
- I took a permaculture design course and am looking forward to teaching people.

I did my undergraduate work in Environmental Studies at Tufts back in 1971 through 1975. Lived in Carmichael Hall, Miller Hall, North Cambridge (Massachusetts Avenue, on the other side of Teal Square), Sawyer House, and Tao Street in Somerville.
Lot's of water under the bridges since then. Been many places, learned many things, crossed many rivers, etc. I'm in Eugene, OR now.
Slumberville, especially when you get up around Tufts/Davis Square has such high quality sturdy housing, but very little in the way of gardening space. However, with imagination, that sort of problem can be dealt with. For example, you may want to look at my essay "Demand Side Management and Transportation Planning", which you can find (now on page 2) of the Discussion Section of this Transition United States website and/or at my "Peoples Equity Union" site at www.peoplesequityunion.blogspot.com
Say hi to the folks in Massachusetts and New England for me.

Try encouraging some of the many groups out there to register themselves as Groups on the Mass site. Do you have any idea how many similar groups there may be in Mass?
If you haven't already done so, come and see the new US Transition Page we rolled out last week. As this page develops, it will become a map of Transition resources across all ning sites. All 50 states are now active. Many state sites are brand new! Go to TRANSITION MASSACHUSETTS and sign in. Invite others. Enter some of your local events. Start Discussions. Make Transition! Have fun!
