Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I have been invited to join the movement by its co-founder Les Squires and this is indeed a previlege. It is also a matter of great personal satisfaction that a movement has been initiated in US for ensuring smooth bloodless transition to ecologically safe ,sustainble mode lifestyle with equity, peace ,justice and social cohesion. As executive director of Centre for Ecological Audit, Social Inclusion and Governance , I have been working for maximining carbon neutral response locally and globally for mitigating the climate change. As a Pychologist, involved in shaping processes for transition to ecologically sustainable, personally enriching and collectively secure future for all of us in here and now and hereafter.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I would like to support processes towards transition through sharing my learnings and experiences as a Psychologist and then as a social development professional. I have called for preparation for the end of petro-modern times and therefore , it is critical to ensure facilitation of processes that contribute in building the future that is ecologically safe , socially equitable and peaceful.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement? What can YOU teach us? What can your GROUP teach us?
We would share all the technical and advisory outputs that we generate . If possible, we can address meetings of volunteers , albeit rarely, as I am based in India , calling for maximising carbon-neutral neighbourhood engagements for mitigating the climate change. One of the critical area of action is to support the adoption of faith based measures for spending leisure time rather than energy intensive travels within and across the cities.

Suggestions you have for improving our Registration questions. Getting to know you better.
Some of the suggestion that could be useful. Questions on the required personal responses for mitigating climate change. For example, what do you think we in US need to do for reducing the emission of green house gases? I would like to write more later.

Using Internet for communicating reduction in emission of green house gases through transforming leisure

I would like to call for transforming ecologically hostile leisure as the first step for transition. Through engaging in carbon neutral neighbourhoods engagements. Faith based engagements need to be reconsidered in this regards. Muslim practice of prayer 5 times can be considered ecolgically benevolent and men and women practicing prayer 5 times a day avoid all the ecologically hostile engagements such as dancing halls and bars.

Kiva Credits in Bulgaria

This is letter from Sushmita Barua from http://seek2know.net/money. She has been calling for interest free loans from the Buddhist perspective. Call for eliminating usury is an interfaith common supported by Muslims and the Vatican

I just made two loans out of some of my repaid loans (Kiva credits) to some women entrepreneurs in Bolivia and Cambodia, using a revolutionary new website called Kiva (www..kiva.org).

Thank you! It sounds as though you are really involved in education around the transition movement. I am very active in my personal life, business, and community, but don't check this website more than every few months, so I apologize for being out of the loop. I received your message and realize now just how much networking is happening here. Oh ~ if I had more time to spend online. :)

Peace and light,
Ann

Mukhtar, I have joined the Global Justice Movement List once again, only to find that my messages are being held for "moderator approval" and i am not going to post to a list where i am being censored. May I suggest that you and/or Robert join the FixGov List which is not moderated. Peter Challen is on this list, and i must assume that it is either Rodney or Janos that is doing the moderating.

Dear Mukhtar - Someone took me off of the Global Justice Movement List and i am no longer signed in there. I reported this to Peter Challen and he was to look into this, but no action was ever taken to reinstate me. If you and Robert want me back on the list, then i suggest you write a comment to both Rodney and Peter, and ask that i be reinstated as i would very much like to keep disseminating information via that list. Thank you for your concern and consideration. I do hope things are well with you. with love and appreciation m r

Thank you, Mukhtar. For the moment, i am engaged in bringing a new Future
Dawning project into being. It is called Future Dawning Enterprises and is designed as an incubator for new trend-setting programs which have the ability to enable and empower paradigm shifts of great magnitude that will carry us into the future in health and wellness.
